   Push through the curtain into Enoteca Cortina, a 64-year-old wine bar. Find the bell tower (Campanile) in Cortina's centro storico. Look for an UNMARKED curtained door beneath it - no sign, just a curtain. Ask sommelier Kristian Casanova for 'something local and surprising under €10/glass.' He'll pour Alto Adige Lagrein (€8-12) or Valpolicella Superiore (€10-15). Arrive 18:00-20:00 when locals appear. Sit at wooden booth seats facing OUT (designed for socializing). 500+ labels available. Space seats 20.

   🔄 BACKUP: If full, buy a bottle to go (€15-30) and drink on Corso Italia pedestrian benches with Dolomite views.

   Take Freccia nel Cielo cable car to Col Druscié (1,778m) where Olympic bobsled teams train on Col Druscié A track below. Reserve terrace table at Masi Wine Bar facing Tofane peaks. Order Risotto all'Amarone (€18-25) with Masi Costasera Amarone (€12-18/glass). Time for 15:30-17:00 when Olympic bobsled teams train.    1956 Olympics Bell Tower Photo

   On Feb 26, 1956, torchbearer Guido Caroli tripped on a camera cable at the base of the Campanile (bell tower) in Cortina's centro storico while carrying the Olympic flame. The flame flickered. He recovered, but the moment is Olympic legend. Search 'Cortina 1956 torch stumble' on YouTube. Look for Enoteca Cortina's curtained door beneath this same tower. The 1962 wine bar and 1956 Olympics history occupy the same location. Cortina returns to Olympics Feb 6-22, 2026 - exactly 70 years later.
