Giggijoch is Sölden's après-ski epicenter - a cluster of mountain restaurants at the main gondola junction. The giant Philipp umbrella bar, the Eugens Obstler schnapps shack, and wine terraces compete for the afternoon ski crowd.

Arrive at Giggijoch junction by 2:30pm. Find the giant Philipp umbrella bar. Order Grüner Veltliner or Glühwein and join the standing crowd. The energy here is pure Tyrolean celebration.
Cross to Eugens for a shot of house-distilled Obstler (fruit schnapps). Tyrolean schnapps distilling stretches back to the 1500s when monasteries first distilled Alpine fruit. Ask which fruit — Williams pear is the classic.
Grab a wine terrace seat facing south-west. Time the last gondola down (4:45pm) — leave 15 minutes early or you're walking. The controlled chaos of everyone racing for the last lift is pure Sölden theatre.
