   In 1994, Michel Rolland - the most famous wine consultant on EARTH - told Kanwal Grover he was "MAD" to make wine in India. Rolland came anyway. Fell in love. He's now a PART OWNER. As you descend into the cave cellar at Grover Zampa (Rs 500-700 tour, book at tours.groverzampa.in), ask your guide: "Is it true Rolland said they were crazy?" Watch them grin. They LOVE telling this story.

   Hunt for Rolland's Signature on the Bottle

   Michel Rolland's actual handwritten signature. It's on EVERY La Réserve bottle. The man who called them mad now signs their flagship. In the tasting room, ask specifically for "La Réserve" - India's FIRST premium wine (1998). Hold the bottle. Find the signature. You're holding proof that conviction beats skepticism. Steven Spurrier (the guy who ran the Judgment of Paris) called this "Best New World red wine" in Decanter 2005.
