   Taste Wine That Exists Nowhere Else on Earth

   Aiselu = wild Himalayan raspberry that grows ONLY between 1,200-2,000m. Too low and it dies. Too high and it dies. This altitude window exists in few places. Wine made here is made NOWHERE else. At any Ilam homestay, ask specifically for "aiselu wine." The crimson color tells you it's real. Ask your host: "Where do the berries grow?" They'll point to the hillsides. You're drinking the landscape.

   Walk Through Darjeeling's Secret Rival

   Same altitude as Darjeeling. Same soil type. Same quality. 1/10th the tourists because the BRAND isn't famous yet. Some tea experts say it's actually BETTER. At Kanyam Tea Garden or Ilam Tea Homestay private estate (early morning), watch the pickers work at sunrise. Breathe air that tastes like tea. Ask: "Why isn't this as famous as Darjeeling?" The answer is just marketing - not quality.

   See the World's Third Highest Peak at Sunrise

   Kanchenjunga (8,586m) - world's 3rd highest mountain - visible on clear days. The tea valley spread below you. Sunrise hitting the Himalayas. From Shree Antudanda (2,328m) - 2-hour hike from Ilam, start 4:30 AM - bring a flask of local tea. Summit by 6 AM. Watch the light hit Kanchenjunga. Few tourists will ever stand where you're standing.
