   From Ischgl village, take Pardatschgratbahn cable car to 2,600m summit. Exit lift into glass-and-steel Pardorama building and look left: Austrian peaks. Look right: Swiss Alps. You're standing on the Austria-Switzerland border. Walk to the terrace first, find the subtle border marker, and stand with one foot in Austria, one in Switzerland. Count the peaks you can see in both countries—this is your "holy shit" moment before lunch.

   🔄 BACKUP: If weather is bad (clouds, wind, snow), Pardorama still operates but views are zero—check conditions at base station before ascending. Save this for a clear day.

   Seated at your window table in Pardorama à la carte restaurant with mountains visible through floor-to-ceiling windows, order Zwiebelrostbraten (Austrian beef with caramelized onions, €24). Tell the sommelier: "I want three-country wine pairing—Austrian, Italian, Swiss." Request Austrian Zweigelt (€12, cherry/spice), Italian Lagrein from South Tyrol (€15, blackberry/chocolate), and Swiss Chasselas if available (€12, mineral/citrus). Taste each wine against the dish—Zweigelt's spice complements the caramelized onions, Lagrein's body matches the beef, Chasselas cuts the richness.

Tramin (Termeno) is 125km away in that direction—the town where Gewürztraminer grape was born. Ask sommelier or server to point out South Tyrol direction. If you ordered Lagrein (indigenous to South Tyrol), you're drinking wine from the region visible through the window. If you ordered Austrian Zweigelt, you're drinking from valleys visible to the east. The wine map becomes physical landscape.

   Still at Pardorama, now approaching 2-3pm (winter) or 6-7pm (spring), order dessert (Kaiserschmarrn €12 or apple strudel €9) and final glass of Austrian wine. Watch the mountains start turning pink as sun sets—the alpenglow phenomenon. The peaks you crossed earlier (or will cross tomorrow) are turning pink while you're holding Austrian wine at 2,600m. Put your phone away for 5 minutes and just watch. The three-country wine pairing was intellectual—this is emotional.

   🔄 BACKUP: If alpenglow doesn't happen (overcast, wrong timing), the experience still works—the three-country wine pairing is the core, alpenglow is the bonus.
