The discovery site is marked — stand where history changed and look south toward Italy (where his axe copper came from) and north toward Austria (where he was heading when he died). You're standing in the middle of a 5,300-year-old trade route.

   Backup: If 7-hour alpine hikes aren't your thing, drive the Brenner Pass (A13 motorway) — one of the likely trade routes Ötzi's people used. Stop at Brenner village and look at the mountains where copper, knowledge, and wine crossed for 5,000 years.
