   Arrive by 4pm in winter at Barry's terrace on Dorfstrasse to claim a seat with direct Eiger North Face sightline. The interior is fine, but the terrace is why you're here. Walk in, scan for terrace openings, claim immediately. If full, put your name down - turnover is quick.

   🔄 BACKUP: If terrace is hopeless, the indoor window seats facing north still deliver the view.

   Order Thun-Region Wine

   Ask specifically for "wine from the Thun region" - rare Bernese bottles that nobody else knows to request. They have Pinot Noir and Chasselas from small producers around Lake Thun (CHF 12-18/glass). Say "Do you have anything from Thun or Spiez?" and watch the staff light up - you've asked the right question.

   Witness the Alpenglow

   As the sun sets, the Eiger turns pink, then orange, then gold - alpenglow, the mountain's daily gift. Everyone stops talking when it happens. Check sunset time (meteoswiss.ch), be seated with wine 30 minutes before, and watch without photographing the first two minutes.

   🔄 BACKUP: Cloudy days block alpenglow. If weather's bad, the indoor DJ and après-ski energy become the experience instead.
