   Find the Hidden Lake Most Tourists Never See

   Lac Moubra is one of 5 main lakes in Crans-Montana, but most tourists never find it. It's surrounded by ancient pines and reflects Alpine peaks in perfect stillness. Between Moubra and the next lake (Miriouges), there's an even MORE hidden lake: Étang des Briesses — a 'small natural treasure' hidden in reeds and trees, fed by rainwater and springs. From Crans-Montana center, follow signs to Lac Moubra (15-minute walk through forest). Free parking at camping site near the lake. Bus line 433 to 'Lac Moubra' stop. Walk the forest path from Les Briesses picnic area (look for Chemin du Pahier) through forest that was once used for building and firewood by locals. Walk clockwise around Lac Moubra's shore to find the quietest spots, or continue toward Miriouges and look for Étang des Briesses in the reeds.

   🔄 BACKUP: If you can't find the trail, just ask anyone in Crans-Montana: 'Où est Lac Moubra?' Everyone knows it. Or follow the 10km 'Promenade des Lacs' signs.

   Watch Alpine Glow Turn Mountains Gold

   Sunset at Lac Moubra is the cheapest luxury in Switzerland. The still water reflects the peaks (Wildstrubel, Plaine Morte glacier visible in distance), and for 20 minutes the mountains turn gold in 'Alpine glow' — the phenomenon where peaks catch sunset light after the valley is in shadow. At Lac Moubra lakeside, find a rock or bench facing west/northwest (toward the Valais Alps). Arrive 30 minutes before sunset (check time on your phone), sit facing the peaks, and watch the light change from white to pink to gold. The lake will mirror it perfectly if there's no wind. Stay until the glow fades — it's a 20-minute show.

   🔄 BACKUP: If sunset timing doesn't work, come at sunrise instead. The glow works in reverse (peaks catch first light). Bonus: even fewer people.

   Drink Wine from the Valley You're Looking At

   You're looking down at the Rhône Valley — the vineyards producing your wine are VISIBLE from where you're sitting. Petite Arvine (first recorded 1602, citrus/saline finish) is the perfect sunset wine: crisp, refreshing, with a salty tang that pairs with alpine air. At the lake, bring a bottle of Petite Arvine (or Fendant) from Château de Villa or any Sierre winery. Buy a bottle in Sierre before hiking up (Château de Villa has 780 wines at cellar prices, or any small cave). Bring plastic cups or drink from the bottle. Sit at your sunset rock, pour a glass, and point at the valley. Say out loud: 'Those vines made this wine.' Feel the circle close.

   🔄 BACKUP: If you forgot to buy wine, just bring water and chocolate. The view is the real luxury. But seriously, buy wine next time.
