Email or call Hotel GLACIER (hotel-glacier.ch, +41 33 853 10 04) at least 5 days ahead and request "Rare Valais" for indigenous grapes or "Sommelier's Choice" for surprises. Mention your preferences (white/red, dry/sweet, adventurous/classic) and Thomas will customize the evening to blow your mind.

This cellar has stored wine since the hotel was built in 1700 — three centuries of bottles, some still drinkable, the oldest now museum pieces. Ask Thomas to show you the historical cellar beneath the hotel before or after the tasting. Thomas loves showing it to genuinely interested guests, and you'll understand why some wines age gracefully for decades while others peak young. Bring a light — it's dark down there and full of liquid history.
