   This is absurd and perfect: the valley below is summer heat, people in shorts, flowers blooming. You're at 3,600m skiing on a glacier that doesn't care what month it is. Take the Alpin Express + Metro Alpin to Mittelallalin (3,456m), then ski lifts to Allalin Glacier - 20km of slopes, NOT suitable for beginners, open mid-July to late October 2026. You can ski in a t-shirt at dawn, then ride down to drink wine at noon. Buy summer ski pass (~CHF 70 adults, check saas-fee.ch for exact 2026 dates), rent gear, ski early morning when glacier surface is firm, and by 11am ride back down before the sun softens everything.

   🔄 BACKUP: Not a skier? Take the lifts anyway. The view from 3,600m in July is surreal enough - glaciers, rock faces, and somewhere way down there, people sunbathing.

   Summer glacier skiing is niche - most tourists don't even know it exists, most skiers don't want to ski in summer. You're part of a strange club: people who looked at July and said "I should be on a glacier." Stand at the top of a lift on the Allalin Glacier slopes and scan - count skiers, snowboarders, anyone moving downhill on snow. Compare that to a normal winter day (hundreds? thousands?). You've got the glacier mostly to yourself. That's the luxury.

   🔄 BACKUP: If it IS crowded (race camps, national teams train here), watch them. World Cup skiers use Saas-Fee for summer conditioning. You might be skiing next to someone who'll podium in 2027.

   Drink Chilled Fendant by Noon in the Car-Free Village

   Two hours ago you were skiing at 3,600m. Now you're drinking Fendant - the Valais aperitif wine - at 1,800m in a village that's never seen a car. The wine is light, mineral, citrus-driven, served 8-10°C, the perfect midday reset after sliding down a glacier. Order it by the glass (CHF 8-12) at any terrace in Saas-Fee village center - Zur Mühle, Brasserie 1809, any wine bar with sun. Ask for it "well chilled," pair with raclette or just drink it in the sun. Tell the server you just skied - they won't be surprised, this is Saas-Fee where summer skiing into wine o'clock is normal.

   🔄 BACKUP: If you want something with more punch, order Petite Arvine instead - still white, still Valais, but with that signature salty finish. Or Heida (Savagnin) for exotic citrus notes. All work post-glacier.

   Locate the Fee Glacier You Just Skied from the Village Below

   The Fee Glacier you just carved turns is visible from your terrace seat in the village - a white tongue between rock faces. You descended 1,800 vertical meters from there to here, from snow to wine, from glacier to cobblestone. The elevation span you covered in one morning is what most tourists take 3 days to experience. Ask your server or locals "Which glacier is visible from here?" They'll point out the Fee Glacier. Trace the route you took: Metro Alpin inside the mountain, lifts to 3,600m, ski down, funicular back, cable car to village. You're looking at your morning in reverse.

   🔄 BACKUP: If clouds obscure the peaks, ask to see photos on the restaurant's walls. Most establishments have glacier shots. Point and say "I was up there 2 hours ago." Locals will approve.
