   Take the first cable car up from St. Moritz (around 09:00) via Corviglia to Piz Nair summit at 3,057m to secure a railing spot on the sun terrace before crowds arrive. At 10,000 feet, you're literally above most clouds with views spanning the entire Engadine Valley and into Italy. Cable car ticket CHF 40-60 — arrive at base station 15 min before first departure and dress warm, even sunny days are cold at this altitude.

   🔄 BACKUP: If weather is bad at summit, Corviglia mid-station has excellent restaurants too.

   Order Graubünden Pinot Noir and Look Down at the Vineyards

   Order a glass of Graubünden Pinot Noir (CHF 15-25) at Restaurant Piz Nair's sun terrace and ask the sommelier to point out the Rhine Valley below where the grapes grew. You're drinking wine from vineyards 1,500 meters below you while looking down at them. Time lunch for 12:00-14:00 when sun is high and terrace warmest — the altitude-terroir contrast is visceral when 'This wine comes from down there' hits different at 3,057m.
