Château Margaux Visit

August is out — the estate closes for the whole month — and so is harvest, whose dates are never announced far ahead. Weekends and public holidays are closed year-round, so any visit falls Monday to Friday, with the first slot usually at 10am. The vintage runs on its own clock: in 2026 the estate reported véraison beginning on 13 July.

Cellar visits are by appointment, Monday to Friday, requested through the contact form on the estate's visits page. Closed at weekends, on public holidays, throughout August and during harvest. The estate sits about 30 kilometres north of Bordeaux in the Médoc, at Château Margaux, 33460 Margaux. Arriving without an appointment, use the designated parking behind the yellow walls rather than the estate approach. The Bordeaux Left Bank Run strings together the classified estates of the same gravel bank, while the Saint-Émilion underground tour sits across the river.
