Ravioles are tiny ravioli (first mentioned 1228) filled with Comté/Emmental + faisselle + parsley, PGI-protected since 1989 with only ~6 producers left. Ask for Verdesse from Domaine Finot — Thomas Finot makes Étraire de La Dhuy from a forgotten Isère grape grown on just 5 hectares. The restaurant's motto: local & seasonal, everything homemade (€30-40 per person). Book ahead at lecoursdelavie.fr and count how many ravioles fit on your fork (answer: 10-12, they're TINY).

Start from the village, ask tourist office for directions, or follow signs. Look for information panels explaining how 15 families would migrate to mountain pastures each summer with cattle — 'Les 2 Alpes' literally means 'The Two Alps,' the two pastures that became a mega-resort. Now look around Venosc: stone, wood, slate roofs, 17th-century buildings, population ~150. The contrast is VIOLENT — the Alps' identity crisis visualized. Mass tourism vs. traditional mountain life. Ask yourself: which survives climate change? The resort needs snow; Venosc just needs goats. Take a photo capturing both: Venosc stone houses in foreground, Les 2 Alpes concrete in background. The villagers watched Les 2 Alpes explode for 50+ years without letting it change them. That stubbornness is Alpine culture's last stand.
