   Exit the Brévent cable car at 2,525m and you're looking directly at Mont Blanc's north face, 2,285m higher than where you're standing. Walk immediately to Le Panoramic's circular terrace and claim the north-facing railing position - this is THE Mont Blanc view that started alpinism. Take Brévent gondola + cable car from Chamonix center (€35-45 round trip), arrive by 11:30am to secure railing position before groups arrive, because the best tables go fast.

   🔄 BACKUP: If railing is full, sit anywhere with mountain view and move to railing as people leave. The terrace has excellent views from most angles.

   Order Savoie Roussette at Altitude

   At 2,525m, the Roussette grape (also called Altesse) reveals honey and nut notes that pair perfectly with alpine air - but thin air changes how you perceive wine entirely. Order a glass of Roussette de Savoie (€14-18) and a croque monsieur (€12) at your railing position or terrace table. In winter, order vin chaud instead of cold white wine - drinking cold Roussette at -5°C is hardcore but uncomfortable.

   🔄 BACKUP: If Roussette isn't available, ask for any 'Savoie white from Apremont or Chignin' - they'll have alternatives.

   The best weather window is 10am-2pm before afternoon clouds roll in, and Mont Blanc's north face catches morning light beautifully. You're looking at the mountain that started alpinism - let the view sink in for 30 minutes minimum with wine in hand. Check weather forecast before going - if you can't see Mont Blanc from town, postpone. Clear morning, clouds by afternoon is the typical pattern.

   🔄 BACKUP: Plan de l'Aiguille refuge (2,317m, mid-station of Aiguille du Midi cable car) has a terrace with similar vibe, easier access, and more traditional alpine menu. 15-minute hike from mid-station.
