Follow the signposted "Route du Champagne," taking the vineyard paths rather than the main road — the path is marked but not always obvious, so ask at the bike shop.

Three villages, three distinct characters await on this 7km stretch: touristy but lovely Hautvillers, quiet Cumières (Georges Laval territory), and larger Aÿ with the Pressoria museum nearby. Follow signs and vineyard paths between Hautvillers → Cumières (3km) → Aÿ (4km), stopping at 1-2 growers in each village for tastings at €5-20 per stop — pace yourself.
