Where Rosé Culture Was Born

Pampelonne Beach Rosé Ritual

In 1955, a shack was built to feed the film crew of "And God Created Woman." Brigitte Bardot asked if she could swim. That shack became Club 55. That moment invented beach club rosé culture. You're standing at the origin.

Insider Tips

  • Club 55 takes cards now but cash still gets "better treatment"

  • Book 1+ week ahead in summer. Or try Patch Beach (same sand, no minimum)

  • Pampelonne parking: use Patch lot (€8) not the €25 lots near Club 55

  • Order rosé "en glaçons" (over ice) - locals do it. It's hot. It's fine.

  • Beach empties at 17:00 when lunch service ends - that's YOUR golden hour
