   Enter Villa Rufolo (€7 admission, daily 9:00-20:00 summer). Walk through the garden to the Belvedere terrace. In 1880, Richard Wagner stood here and declared he'd found "Klingsor's magic garden" - the setting for Parsifal Act 2. A plaque marks the spot. Read it, then look at the view that inspired an opera.

   Climb the Moorish Tower

   The highest point in Ravello's historic center.

   Inside the villa grounds, find the Torre Maggiore (Moorish-style tower, 13th century). Climb to the top. On clear days, you can see Vesuvius to the north and the Cilento coast to the south. This is why Ravello was a refuge for the rich - enemies spotted from 50km away.

   Toast at the Garden Cafe

   Find the cafe inside the villa grounds (near the exit). Order a glass of Costa d'Amalfi DOC Bianco or Ravello Bianco (€8-12). Sit facing the Belvedere. You're drinking local wine in Wagner's magic garden. Story potential: at least a 4.

   Concert on the transparent hanging stage - if dates align.

   If visiting July-August, check ravellofestival.com for concerts. The famous "hanging stage" is a transparent platform built over the cliff for performances. Classical, jazz, film music. Tickets €30-100+. Book 2+ weeks ahead. Dawn concerts (rare) are legendary - the sun rises mid-performance.

   Find the Cloister Detail

   A 700-year-old architectural secret.

   Before leaving, find the 13th-century cloister with interlaced Moorish arches. Look at the column capitals - each one is different, carved by different artisans. Count how many unique designs you can find. The Rufolo family employed Arabic craftsmen from Sicily. This is Norman-Arab fusion architecture at its finest.
