   The cellar is carved 80 meters deep into volcanic rock.

   Book the "Tour & Tasting" (€35-45, 2.5 hrs) at marisacuomo.com at least 2 days ahead. The tour begins with a descent into the estate's cellars - 80 meters into the cliffside rock. Temperature drops 15°C. Bring a jacket. Touch the rock walls - this is volcanic tuff from Vesuvius.

   Spot the "Heroic" Vineyard Angles

   Vines growing at angles so steep they require ropes to harvest.

   During the vineyard walk, look for the steepest terraces above the fjord. These use the "pergola" training system - vines horizontal on overhead wires. Ask your guide: "How do you harvest at that angle?" The answer: ropes, baskets, and 600 years of practice. This is viticoltura eroica - heroic viticulture.

   Taste the Fiorduva

   The flagship white from Ripoli, Fenile, and Ginestra grapes.

   During tasting, specifically request Fiorduva (€15-20 tasting). This white blend of indigenous Ripoli, Fenile, and Ginestra grapes is consistently 90+ points. Note the minerality - ask: "Is that the volcanic soil or the sea air?" The answer is both.

   Marisa's sister Erminia cooks traditional Furore dishes.

   Add lunch at Hostaria Bacco (€40-60, across the road from the winery). Erminia Cuomo is in the kitchen. Order the linguine alla colatura di alici (anchovy essence from Cetara, 10km away) paired with Furore Bianco. The wine cellar beneath has 5,000 bottles. Ask to see it.

   Find the Fiordo di Furore Viewpoint

   The hidden fjord that gives the village its name.

   After your visit, walk 5 minutes down the road toward Amalfi. The Fiordo di Furore - Italy's only fjord - is a dramatic cliff inlet. Look for the small beach 25m below. The bridge above is famous for cliff diving competitions. Stand on the bridge, look down at the turquoise water, and understand why they call this the "village that doesn't exist."
