Bad Dürkheim Wurstmarkt: The World's Largest Wine Festival

Despite the name (Wurstmarkt = sausage market), this is actually the world's largest wine festival. Held annually for 600+ years in September, it draws 650,000 visitors over two long weekends. The festival grounds feature the Dürkheimer Riesenfass - a giant barrel (1.7 million liters) now housing a restaurant.
