   Claim the Terrace View at Sunset

   Taylor's terrace overlooks Porto's UNESCO skyline - arrive before 5pm in summer to claim a seat.

   Book the €15 'Essential Port Tasting' (3 wines: Chip Dry, LBV, 10-Year Tawny). After the audio tour, head to the terrace bar. Sit facing the Douro - you're looking at the Ribeira district and Dom Luís Bridge. Order a glass of 10-Year Tawny (€8-12) and stay for sunset. This view is Story Potential 5.

   Find the 1692 Foundation Date

   Taylor's was founded in 1692 - older than most countries. Find the historic markers.

   During the audio tour, look for the 1692 founding date in the cellar entrance and museum section. Ask staff: 'Where is the oldest artifact in the lodge?' They'll point you to documents or barrels from the early years. Taylor's is one of the oldest British Port houses still in the same family ownership.

   Taste a 40-Year Tawny

   Port aged 40 years develops complexity that younger wines can't match. This is liquid history.

   Book the €65 'Premium Port Tasting' (5 wines including 40-Year Tawny) or pay €15-20 for a single glass at the terrace bar. The 40-Year has notes of caramel, walnut, and orange peel. Ask your server: 'How does the 40-Year differ from the 20?' Swirl, smell, sip slowly - you're tasting four decades of aging.

   Walk Downhill to the Next Lodge

   Taylor's is at the TOP of Gaia hill. Plan your route downhill through the lodges.

   After Taylor's, walk downhill (never up - you've done the hard climb!). Graham's is 10 min walk down. Sandeman is on the waterfront (15-20 min). The cable car (€6) descends to the waterfront if you're tired. Maximum 3 lodges/day - Port is 19-22% alcohol.
