   Hunt the 2,662 Figures of Conquest

   The museum has EVERY PANEL of Trajan's Column from Rome displayed at EYE LEVEL — 190 meters of frieze showing 2,662 figures in 155 scenes. But here's the shock: most scenes show Romans BUILDING (forts, bridges, roads) and HARVESTING CROPS, not fighting. This isn't a war memorial. It's a CIVILIZATION memorial housed in the Lapidarium section (ground floor). Start at Scene 1 (army departing), count construction scenes vs battle scenes as you walk the spiral, and find Trajan — he appears 58 times. Ask the guard: "Which scene shows the wine harvest?" — they may know.

   🔄 BACKUP: Museum is under renovation (2026) and Trajan panels may be STACKED ON FLOOR. If so, ask staff to direct you to accessible panels, or focus on Historical Treasure + Dacian bracelets instead.

   Find What Survived 1900 Years Underground

   Thirteen Dacian gold bracelets recovered from Sarmizegetusa Regia — 1st century BC masterpieces that were LOOTED and sold on international antique markets, then recovered through concerted efforts of Romanian, French, and German authorities. These bracelets were worn by Dacian nobles when they drank wine imported from Greece BEFORE Rome arrived. Find them in the Historical Treasure section (only guaranteed accessible area during renovation), look for spiral designs (Dacian specialty), and read the provenance cards — they'll tell you which auction house or black market they were recovered from.

   🔄 BACKUP: If bracelets aren't displayed, ask staff when they rotate. Royal regalia (Romanian crown jewels) are also in Treasure section and always accessible.

   Decode the Wine Vessels

   Roman wine vessels and amphorae from Dacian sites tell the story: Dacians imported Greek wine before Rome, then Romans brought amphora-based wine trade after 106 AD. Look for the shape difference in the Roman Dacia gallery — Greek amphorae (pointed bottom, for ships) vs Roman amphorae (flat bottom, for land transport). Photograph the amphora profiles, note the capacity stamps (Roman quality control), and count how many are Greek vs Roman to understand the trade shift.
