   Walk the Promenade des Anglais

   Start at the pink-domed Negresco Hotel and walk east along the Promenade des Anglais (7km total, walk as far as you like). The British aristocracy built this promenade in the 1820s. Stop at the iconic blue chairs facing the sea - they're free to use. The Riviera has seduced royalty for 150 years.

   🔄 BACKUP: If walking is too far, rent a Vélo Bleu bike (€1.50/30 min).

   Buy Champagne at a Cave

   Stop at La Cave de la Tour (3 Rue de la Tour) in Vieux Nice. Buy a bottle of champagne (€25-50) and plastic flutes - the owner knows champagne and will recommend based on your budget. Nicolas wine shops also work.

   🔄 BACKUP: If Cave de la Tour is closed, Cave Bianchi (7 Rue Raoul Bosio) is nearby.

   Toast the Sunset at Castle Hill

   Walk (20 min, stairs) or take the free elevator (near Place Garibaldi) to Castle Hill (Colline du Château). Find the waterfall viewpoint facing west - this offers the best sunset view over the Baie des Anges. Open your champagne as the sun sets over the Promenade. This is the Riviera.

   🔄 BACKUP: If the elevator closes before you descend, the stairs down have excellent views too.
