   Taste at Zazzeri Cheese Shop

   Find Zazzeri on Via Pian del Nocio (or ask any local—everyone knows it). The brother-sister owners are friendly and encourage tasting. Try the 'subcenericius' (ash-aged pecorino)—it's their specialty. They vacuum-seal for travel. Budget €15-30 for cheese to take home.

   Walk behind Palazzo Piccolomini to Via del Casello. The town walls here overlook the Val d'Orcia—rolling hills, cypress lines, distant farmhouses. This view is arguably better than Piazzale Michelangelo but with 1/100th the tourists. Morning light is best after Chapel Vitaleta sunrise.
