Visit one of only two wineries in all of Myanmar. Bert Morsbach, a German entrepreneur, tested 100 grape varieties here. Only 5 survived. He spent years convincing locals that grapes could grow on these hillsides. Now Red Mountain produces 100,000 bottles annually from 24 hectares. The tasting costs $3.40 for four glasses. The view of Inle Lake and the Shan hills is free. You are drinking wine where almost no one has tried.
