Apu Winery High Altitude Tour
Tour the vineyard that took years of Andes scouting to find. Fernando Gonzales-Lattini and Meg McFarland searched Peru highlands for the perfect terroir. They found it at 2,850 meters, cleared dense jungle brush, and planted vines in 2011. Walk through vineyards where the Amazon begins just over the ridge. The altitude makes you dizzy. The UV intensity makes grapes develop thick skins. The wine is unlike anything from lower elevations.
