# Wine Memories

> Wine Memories is an iPhone app for keeping wine memories: the bottle, the people and the place, pinned to your own map. Next to the journal sits a wine atlas of places to go. Made in Helsinki, Finland.

## What Wine Memories does

A memory in Wine Memories is a moment with wine in it: the photo, the bottle, who you were with and where it happened. Each memory is pinned to your own world map, and you can share it with the people who were there. The app's scanner finds the wine photos already in your camera roll and turns them into memories on the map.

The wine atlas on this website has pages for 1,519 wine experiences, 2,617 venues, 432 wine regions and 352 trails in 89 countries. Experiences come with completion steps: specific things to do once you are there.

## Featured venue: IISI Vallisaari

IISI Vallisaari is a wine bar and event venue on Vallisaari, a former military island in the Helsinki archipelago. The island is reachable only by ferry: JT-Line sails from Kauppatori (Market Square), and the crossing takes about 20 minutes. The venue is open in summer, roughly May to September, when the ferry runs.

IISI runs sommelier-led wine tastings (about five wines with a tapas buffet), long-table dinners, wine dating evenings, DJ nights and The Bacchanalia, a two-day wine festival in July.
