History

Pride of Bergheim wine-growers since 12th century. Selected as one of original 24 Grand Crus in 1983 decree. In 2005, received special recognition for diverse grape varieties and blending tradition. Jean-Michel Deiss discovered an old field-blend parcel when a dying winemaker entrusted him with Schoenenbourg - this led him to replant all top vineyards to complantation, reviving medieval Alsatian tradition.
