History

Cistercian monks planted Coulée de Serrant 1130 AD. Nicolas Joly inherited family estate 1977, converted to biodynamics 1984 after reading Rudolf Steiner. His Coulée de Serrant became global biodynamic icon. Joly founded Return to Terroir movement. Curnonsky declared Savennières among France's five greatest white wines. Château d'Épiré and Domaine des Baumard maintain traditional excellence.
