History

Porto-Vecchio ("Old Port") was founded by Genoese in 1539. The natural harbor made it strategically important. Today it's Corsica's tourism capital with famous beaches. Vineyards on granite slopes above the turquoise bays. Small production mainly consumed locally and by tourists. AOC 1976.
