AOC granted 1936 - first in Loire Valley and considered best appellation. Victor Huët founded Domaine Huet 1928 (Le Haut-Lieu vineyard), son Gaston took charge 1937. Domaine Huet 1947 vintage ranked #6 in Decanter's "100 Greatest Wines" (2005) - second-highest white. Huet to Vouvray what d'Yquem is to Sauternes.
