Over 300 years of Prosecco winemaking tradition. Italy's first School of Winemaking founded 1876 in Conegliano, launching quality revolution. DOC recognition 1969 as historic denomination. Superiore di Cartizze sub-zone regulations established 1969 (107ha steepest hillsides). Ministry of Agriculture elevated to DOCG 2009 - highest Italian quality level. UNESCO recognized Prosecco Hills cultural landscape 2019 for checkerboard pattern of ciglioni terraced vineyards. 43 Rive single-vineyard zones formalized with hand-harvest requirements.
