History

Wines praised in Bonifacio's Historia Trevigiana (1590). DOC 1977. Loredan Gasparini estate (Venegazzù) founded by descendants of Venetian Doge Leonardo Loredan; planted Bordeaux varieties, created Italy's first estate Cabernet blend. 'Della Casa' first vinified 1951. 'Capo di Stato' named 1967 after Charles de Gaulle praised it as excellent Bordeaux (not knowing it was Italian). Recantina rescued: Giusti first vintage 2014, now 7ha of 12ha total in Italy.
