The Cloud Wine Trail
Vineyard at 3,300m Where the Amazon Begins
Fernando Gonzales-Lattini and Meg McFarland spent years scouting the Andes for the perfect terroir. They found it at 2,850-3,300 meters, cleared dense jungle brush, and planted vines in 2011. Walk through vineyards where the Amazon begins just over the ridge. The altitude makes you dizzy. The UV intensity makes grapes develop impossibly thick skins.

Insider tip. Acclimatize in Cusco first - altitude sickness is real. They follow Northern Hemisphere calendar (prune January, harvest October). Combine with Machu Picchu since you are already acclimated.
