- Phnom Penh (PNH) - 3-4 hours by bus. Or Sihanoukville (KOS) - 2 hours.
- Drinking and driving
- Kampot is tiny and walkable. Riverside bars are 5-10 min walk. Tuk-tuks for Secret Lake if you're drinking.
- Without a car
- Giant Ibis buses from PP are comfortable and reliable. Local tuk-tuks for everything in Kampot ($1-2 in town, $5-10 for day trips). Scooter rental $5-7/day but not necessary.

- Don't drive to Kep drunk - the road has police checkpoints
- Don't buy pepper in tourist shops - farm prices are 1/3 the cost
