Insider tip. Rent bikes in Blenheim - the valley is flat, and you can easily visit 5-6 cellar doors in a day.

Parking: All wineries have free parking. Blenheim town has ample parking.
Nearest airport: Blenheim Marlborough (BHE) - 5 min to wineries
Drinking and driving: Cycle the wine trail - purpose-built and safe. Many cellar doors offer water refills. Taxis available but cycling is part of the experience.
Other airports: Wellington (WLG) - 25 min flight or 3.5 hr ferry
Christchurch (CHC) - 5 hr drive or 45 min flight
Without a car: Cycling is the best way to explore - flat terrain, dedicated wine trail. Bike rentals widely available. Guided bike tours also popular.

Why there: Central to all wineries, good restaurants, bike rental shops. Smaller than Wellington, but everything you need.
Booking tip: Summer (Dec-Feb) is peak season. Autumn harvest (Mar-Apr) offers great weather and fewer crowds.
