Beer culture dominates - wine is rare. A few General Luna restaurants have basic wine (₱300-500/glass). BYOB from Manila or Cebu if wine is important. Cooler + dry bag = wine on island hopping tours.

  • Sohoton Caves (full day, 4+ hours each way)
  • Magpupungko rock pools (nice but overrated)

Mistakes to avoid

  • Don't surf Cloud 9 unless you're advanced - reef break, shallow, powerful
  • Don't forget sunscreen on Naked Island - there is ZERO shade
  • Don't rent motorbike without checking brakes - roads have sand patches
  • Don't expect wine culture - this is beer country
  • Don't book expensive resorts far from GL - you'll miss the vibe
  • Don't skip helmet - police checkpoint fines are ₱500

Worth stopping for

  • Cloud 9: Shoot from boardwalk during morning session (06:00-09:00), silhouettes of surfers against rising sun
  • Sugba Lagoon: Overhead drone shots are iconic, or shoot from diving platform looking down at emerald water
  • Naked Island: The isolation is the shot - you on a pure sandbar, nothing else. Wide angle.
  • Palm tree roads: Motorbike through Pacifico road (north), golden hour both ways
  • Wine shot: Cooler on boat bow approaching Naked Island, or Cloud 9 boardwalk sunset
