Buddhist Harvest Blessing Ceremony

Buddhist ceremonial blessing of the grape harvest in Ningxia wine region, celebrating the annual vintage tradition tied to local Tibetan and Buddhist practices.

What to do there

FestivalBuddhist Harvest Blessing CeremonyWitness the only wine harvest in the world that begins with a Buddhist blessing ceremony. Tibetan monks chant prayers over the grapes before picking begins. Prayer flags are hung in the vineyard. This is not a tourist show - it is how this community has blessed their harvest for generations, adapted now for wine grapes. The ceremony typically happens in late September or early October.
