    At 320-420m elevation, Gibbston is one of the highest wine sub-regions in New Zealand. Alan Brady planted the first vines here in 1981. The dramatic temperature swings (up to 25°C daily) create wines of intense color and flavor. Their wine cave is carved into the hillside schist.
