Tourist friendlyModernGroupsWhy go
The Peak Walk by Tissot is a 107-metre suspension bridge, 80 centimetres wide, between two summits of the Diablerets massif in the canton of Vaud. The operator calls it the only suspension bridge in the world linking two mountain summits. Glacier 3000 expected a record 265,000 entries in the year to 30 September 2026, and more than half were walkers, not skiers. It is one stop of a wine trail that starts in Gstaad.
What to expect
Two cable cars climb about 1,430 metres from Col du Pillon to Scex Rouge in 15 minutes. Crossing the bridge takes 15 to 30 minutes; it is narrow and swings slightly in the wind, so a head for heights is needed. The same ticket covers the Ice Express chairlift and the Glacier Walk, about an hour each way to the Refuge l'Espace. In spring and autumn it can snow at any time.

When to go
Go on a clear, calm day: the operator advises picking the least windy one, because gusts over 80 km/h can keep the lifts and the bridge closed. The first cabin leaves at 9:00 am, and arriving before 3:00 pm leaves time to enjoy the top. The lifts run all year except an autumn maintenance break, in 2026 from 19 October to 6 November. A live forecast goes up after the 8:30 am mountain inspection.

History
The bridge opened at the end of October 2014 and cost about CHF 1.8 million; the Swiss watchmaker Tissot gives it its name. The summit building beside it has its own story. Mario Botta's restaurant, opened in 2001, burned one night in September 2022. Botta's rebuilt building was inaugurated on 14 November 2024, at a cost of CHF 30 million, with more than 600 solar panels on its walls.
