Pierre Overnoy
Pierre Overnoy was the 'pope' of natural wine—in 1984, he pioneered sulfur-free winemaking in Jura's 6-hectare Pupillin vineyard (Chardonnay, Savagnin, Ploussard), founding biodynamic Arbois Vin Jaune while refusing chemicals since the 1950s, now led by protégé Emmanuel Houillon.
