In 1996, winemaker Antonio Mastroberardino revived ancient Pompeii varieties buried for 2,000 years, recreating Villa dei Misteri (2001) by blending 90% Piedirosso and 10% Sciascinoso to honor the Dionysian mysteries celebrated in this Roman villa.
