Katajanokka
When Russia launched its Russification campaign in 1899, Finnish architects fought back with buildings. Katajanokka became the densest concentration of Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) architecture in Northern Europe — 52 buildings on a single peninsula, each facade embedded with Finnish nationalist symbols.
