Ravintola Muru

Ravintola Muru is a bistro built around wine. Its list has held Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence since 2017, and the Michelin Guide writes: "You’d be hard pushed to find a restaurant with a greater focus on wine than Muru." For a glass rather than a dinner, its own wine bar is around the corner on Lönnrotinkatu.

Ravintola Muru opens Tuesday to Saturday, 17:00–23:30, and the kitchen takes orders until 22:00; it is closed on Sundays and Mondays. The house posts a Christmas break from 24 December to 6 January. The menu changes daily with the season. For a glass before or after dinner, the wine bar opens Wednesday to Saturday from 16:30.

The house says its guests' favourite is the four-course menu of the day at €59, which can be extended with the day's risotto. Wine Spectator rates the list's pricing $$$, its band for lists with many bottles over $100. Hours change, so check the site before going.

Ravintola Muru is at Fredrikinkatu 41 in Kamppi, central Helsinki, under 500 metres in a straight line south-east of Kamppi metro station. Its wine bar is on the same corner block, 28 metres away at Lönnrotinkatu 14. Both sit in the city centre of Helsinki.

Ravintola Muru is a small wine-focused bistro at Fredrikinkatu 41 in Kamppi, central Helsinki, opened in 2010. The City of Helsinki listing describes its food as traditional French cooking with a small Italian twist; the menu changes daily with the season, and the sommeliers pair wines from a list the house puts at nearly 800 wines. It is a stop on The Pioneers trail.

Muru opened in 2010, and by April 2012 Yle reported that a weekend table could be booked at the earliest for late July, quoting chef Henri Alén. The house says Wine Spectator first gave its list the Best of Award of Excellence on 1 September 2017. In 2025 Star Wine List named it a finalist in Finland for the best long wine list, the category for lists of more than 600 references.
